DESCRIPTION:The Coastal Conservation Association Mississippi (CCAMS) and the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources are excited to present the Junior Jubilee Kids Fishing Rodeo. This unique event runs from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day and concludes with a grand awards banquet in September. The fishing rodeo is a great opportunity for children aged 3 to 15 to participate in over 100 place prizes and win exciting door prizes totaling over $40\,000.00. Fishing is restricted to Mississippi Waters South of I-10!Beyond just having fun fishing\, this event aims to foster a sense of environmental responsibility in our young ones and encourage them to develop a love for the Gulf\, our most precious natural resource. We also want to provide opportunities for families to fish together and allow children who have never fished before to learn. Our goal is to create healthy competition between peers and within each child to gain a better understanding of fishing while rewarding and acknowledging all who participate.Registration is easy and the entire event is at no cost to our young anglers. Not an angler? Thats ok! Enjoy a day filled with exciting prizes\, delicious food from local vendors\, and plenty of shopping options. Experience thrilling rides\, live music\, and don’t miss the Princess Scholarship Pageant! It’s a celebration of fun\, community\, and fishing that you won’t want to miss! \nOn Saturday this year\, after the scales close at 6 pm\, July 3rd\, CCA volunteers will be offering a fishing 101 seminar to give basic instructions and a couple of trade secrets to our young anglers\, ages 4 – 13. Each child who attends will receive a free fishing pole and tackle. (while supplies last)
